Sexagesimal numbers

Volume 7, Issue 7; 13 Jan 2023

TIL: The YAML specification is more, uh, interesting than I realized.

So. YAML, huh. You don’t say.

Accidental numbers and the Norway problem I might have been able to figure out on my own. Using an alias without a corresponding anchor is at least an error. I did not see the arbitrary code execution exploit waiting over there in the corner. But sexagesimal numbers are my favorite feature. This would be funnyFunnier, ed. if YAML wasn’t being used as a serious data format all over the place.

Hat tip to Adam Retter on the XML.com slack for the pointer to The yaml document from hell.
