Swansea bay stroll

Volume 7, Issue 50; 29 Dec 2023

A breezy walk along Swansea bay.

I confess, I wasn’t aware of Storm Gerrit before I set out on my stroll yesterday. My plan was to walk up to the Mumbles, but after a half hour or so that felt like walking in a sand blaster, I abandoned that plan and wandered up through the uplands instead.

Along the way, I took some snaps with Hipstamatic.

On the whole, I like the effects, but discovering that the app doesn’t record GPS locations in the EXIF metadata means I’ll probably stop using it.

Something’s gone wrong with the capture time metadata as well, I see.

I think the pseudo-tintypes are especially nice.

On a warmer, calmer day, I might have snagged a picture of a pint at the Secret Beach Bar & Kitchen.

I’ve noticed that the CSS styling here and the borders applied by the camera app don’t really play nicely, but I’m not going to fuss about that now.

The uplands are appropriately named, it’s a fair hike up to the top.

There’s a wine merchant on Walter Road where I found some fizz from the sparkling wine region of Wales. We shall see how that is on New Year’s Eve or thereabouts.
